Bread, Butter & Brie a
Solid Good Friday Option

Easter Weekend is nigh. There's only a couple of more hurdles for those observing Lent
Good Friday is a day of fasting: One full meal, although smaller than a regular meal, and two smaller meals, which together do not equal one full meal, are all Christian tradition allows. That and again, of course, no meat.

This season of Lent, Moms Tassleberry has provided six healthy easy-to-prepare fish recipes to assist harried homemakers trying to feed their families in keeping with those traditions.
This week Moms is not providing a fish dish recommendation, but recipes for dishes such as Double Strawberry Baked Halibut, Broiled Strawberry Jerked Swordfish, Blueberry Salsa Roasted Salmon, Strawberry Smothered Broiled Tuna Steaks, Strawberry Codfish Tacos and Very Berry Blueberry Buttered Scallops are available by just scrolling below.
Instead, Moms today is pitching a simple but tasty, healthy solution for one, or both, of the smaller meals allowed on Good Friday.
The recipe below employs whole-fruit Tassleberry Farm Strawberry Butter in its preparation.
The whole-fruit butters Tassleberry Farm produces are the result of a preserving process where the fruit is blended after being heated to give it a smoother butter-like consistency. Tassleberry Farm's Strawberry Butter is all natural and made from berries handpicked in our fields with more than a pound of berries in each 10-ounce jar, along with a little sugar and some spice.
Despite the buttery name, nutrition-minded chefs will find that fruit preserves carry through on the health benefits of the fruit they are produced from. Tassleberry Farm also has a whole-fruit butter in blueberry flavor
Strawberries are high in antioxidants and vitamin C. They are known to fight heart disease and provide a number of vitamins and minerals that support overall human health.
Cheese itself has health benefits, believe it or not, for something so tasty. The brie used in the recipe below is high in healthy proteins as well as calcium and phosphorus, both of which promote healthy bones and teeth. It also contains abundant vitamins A, B6 and B12. One serving provides plenty of Riboflavin, or B2, a nutrient vital to the human metabolism as well as folate, another nutrient important during pregnancies.
Choosing your bread for this sandwich is important and Moms suggest you chose a French baguette, but purchase it on the day of preparation as baguettes contain no preservatives.

Ingredients
• 1 French baguette
• 1 10-oz. btl. Tassleberry Farm Strawberry Butter
• 1 small wheel of soft brie cheese.
Directions
Slice baguette lenghthwise and hollow out the middle slightly to provide a well for the cheese and whole-fruit butter to settle into.
Breaking the rind, scoop out brie and slather onto one side of the baguette. You may find that you must warm the brie slightly in the oven to facilitate this step.
On the other side of the baguette, liberally slather the Tassleberry Farm Strawberry Butter.
Fold the two sides together and place on cookie sheet.
Preheat over to 325. Slide in baking sheet and monitor until the cheese begins bubbling out the side, usually 20-25 minutes. Make sure not to burn bread, turning if necessary
Remove from oven, wrap in tinfoil to keep it warm.
The bread can be cut into section and reheated in a microwave for later consumption
